NEW BIKEWAY OPENS AT CARINA HEIGHTS Councillor Schrinner and Lord Mayor Campbell Newman were recently joined
by local residents to officially open the final stage of the Carina Heights bikeway.
The bikeway launch was a great success with many residents celebrating
the launch with a free sausage sizzle and children’s face painting stall in the park.
“This bikeway link provides an important connection for the local community to Carindale Shopping
Centre, Carindale bus interchange and the broader Bulimba Creek bikeway network,” Councillor Schrinner
said. “Thank you to all residents who came along to celebrate the launch of this fantastic
bikeway in spite of the rainy weather. "I also want to thank the volunteers from the
Rotary Club of Carindale and the Carindale PCYC for helping to make the launch a success," Cr Schrinner
said. The bikeway can be accessed via Whatmore Street or Gaffney Street, Carina Heights and continues
through to Creek Road, near the Belmont Private Hospital This project is part of the Lord Mayor’
s commitment to provide $100 million in new cycling and pedestrian infrastructure across the city over
four years. MORE WAYS TO STAY IN TOUCH
